Columbus Grove Fall Festival — The Growth Collective Brings Community Together

During our visit to the Columbus Grove Fall Festival, I had the opportunity to sit down with Stephanie and Aspen, members of The Growth Collective, a group of women in Columbus Grove who came together with a shared goal: to bring local businesses, families, friends, and the community together as fall begins and the holiday season approaches.

Stephanie and Aspen explained that the festival was created to help set the tone for the new season, encourage people to come together, and support local businesses and families. Many of the vendors came from Columbus Grove and the surrounding area, with others traveling in from outside the county.

The festival was set up much like a community farmers market, with a wide variety of vendors, organizations, local businesses, and families all taking part. The Growth Collective invited many different people in hopes of creating an event that would be memorable, welcoming, and meaningful to the community.

The event also included some unusual and interesting attractions. One organization was raising money for a reptile and aquarium rescue and brought exotic snakes and lizards for visitors to see. It added another unique element to a festival already filled with food, vendors, music, and family activities.

Music was also an important part of the day. Jason Wagner performed from the festival stage, bringing Americana, folk, and country music to the heart of downtown Columbus Grove.

For us at KWMV 88.5 FM, The Al Timberlane Show, and The Ozark American Songbook, this kind of event represents the heart of small-town America. It brings together music, family, community, local business, and tradition — all of the things we are celebrating and preserving during America’s Semiquincentennial and the 250th anniversary year.
