GOOD MORNING OZARK AMERICAN JOURNAL™ | DISCOVERING AMERICA

By Al Timberlane | Elida, Ohio | November 7, 2026

Good morning, America! I'm Al Timberlane, and today we're coming to you from Elida, Ohio, where the ovens are fired up and the spirit of community is alive and well.

We've been following Ohio pizza business Fired Up 4 Good and caught up with the team at Holiday in the Village — Shop, Dine & Explore, right at Plum Street and West Main Street.

Elida Ohio community celebration

Meet Founder Andrew Thomas

We had the pleasure of visiting with Andrew Thomas, founder of Fired Up 4 Good, a pizza business based in the Delphos, Ohio, area. Andrew and his team have been taking their portable pizza ovens to celebrations around Ohio.

The team recently marked an anniversary in September. We've followed their travels, including the October 10 Fall Food Truck Festival in Lima and today's November 7 stop in Elida.

Good Food for a Good Cause

During our conversation, Andrew shared that Fired Up 4 Good supports various community charities, including organizations addressing homelessness and food pantries. Their menu states that 10 percent of every pizza sold supports local nonprofit organizations.

Fired Up in Elida

Local holiday gathering and pizza ovens

Today two portable pizza ovens are burning brightly outside The Village Square. There's pizza with familiar toppings, a gluten-free offering and cookie buckets for visitors looking for something sweet.

There's more to explore nearby: Village Coffee House, The Story Room bookstore, Whiskers & Wizards Game Lounge, local merchants, craft vendors and the Historical Society of Elida Museum.

A Business with a Heart

Small businesses are important to America's communities. They involve long hours, hard work and a willingness to show up for neighbors. And when giving back is part of the mission, that's a story worth sharing.

Congratulations to Andrew and the Fired Up 4 Good team on their September anniversary milestone. Keep those ovens fired up!

If you're in Elida, come get a freshly made pizza, visit the local shops, and meet the neighbors making this celebration happen.
